A clear, structured path from application to cockpit.
Enrollment at Texas Flight Airline Academy is intentionally straightforward. Our admissions process is designed to ensure the right fit for both the student and the academy, setting clear expectations from day one and building the foundation for long-term success.
This page walks you step-by-step through the enrollment process, from your initial application, acceptance, financing, and program start. You’ll learn what we look for in candidates, what you can expect at each stage, and how we support you throughout the journey.
Our goal is simple: remove uncertainty, provide clarity, and ensure that every student who enrolls is prepared, committed, and positioned to succeed in an airline-focused training environment.
The Enrollment Process
Before applying, prospective students should ensure they meet the baseline requirements for enrollment in the Airline Pilot Program:
Be at least 18 years old by the start of their selected class date
Be a U.S. citizen
Be able to obtain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate by the start of training
Be prepared to commit to a full-time, immersive training schedule
Once accepted, your assigned Student Success Advisor will assist you with navigating the medical certification process and answering any remaining eligibility questions.
Qualified candidates are invited to submit an application on our website for an upcoming class date. Applications allow us to evaluate readiness, commitment, and alignment with the expectations of an airline-focused training environment.
Because class sizes are limited, submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or seat availability.
Each application is carefully reviewed by our admissions team. Accepted candidates will receive a formal acceptance letter by mail, and a Student Success Advisor will reach out personally to congratulate you and guide you through the next steps.
This is where your journey officially begins and where we ensure you are fully prepared for success before training starts.
After acceptance, students must decide how they will fund their training. You may choose to:
Self-pay, or
Secure financing through our trusted lending partner, Stratus Financial
Our team will help you understand timelines, documentation, and next steps to ensure financing is in place well before your class start date. For addition information on our financing options, please visit our Financing Page.
To finalize enrollment, students must:
Sign all required enrollment and training documents, and
Submit the non-refundable enrollment deposit (only required for Self-Pay students)
The deposit officially secures your seat in the class and initiates shipment of your New Student Kit, which includes required training materials and equipment.
Once enrolled, your focus shifts to preparation. You’ll receive guidance on what to expect during your first week, how to prepare academically and logistically, and how to set yourself up for success from day one.
From here, training begins and your path toward a professional pilot career takes flight.
