One Scholarship Available Per Eligible Class

How the Scholarship Works

The selected recipient receives a total $10,000 reduction in Professional Pilot Program tuition.

  • $2,500 toward the second scheduled tuition payment

  • $2,500 toward the third scheduled tuition payment

Who Can Apply?

The Professional Pilot Scholarship is available to eligible new applicants to the Texas Flight Airline Academy Professional Pilot Program.

Applicants must:

  • Apply for an eligible upcoming Professional Pilot Program class;

  • Submit a Professional Pilot Program admissions application;

  • Submit a complete scholarship application by the applicable deadline;

  • Meet the Academy's normal admission requirements;

  • Be prepared to participate in the program's training schedule;

  • Have or be capable of obtaining the FAA medical certification required for their training pathway; and

  • Demonstrate sufficient approved financing or other secured financial resources to satisfy the remaining tuition obligation.

Current and previously enrolled Texas Flight Airline Academy Professional Pilot Program students are not eligible.

There is no fee to apply for the scholarship.

What We Look For

This is a competitive scholarship, not a random drawing.

Texas Flight Airline Academy evaluates candidates using a standardized scholarship selection process. Applicants are considered based on factors including:

  • Commitment to becoming a professional pilot

  • Preparation and readiness for professional flight training

  • Perseverance and sustained commitment

  • Accountability and personal integrity

  • Coachability and response to feedback

  • Judgment and decision-making

  • Teamwork and professional communication

  • Understanding of the responsibilities associated with representing Texas Flight Airline Academy as a scholarship recipient

Previous flight experience is not required to be a competitive applicant.

Financial resources are an eligibility requirement but are not used to rank scholarship applicants. An applicant does not receive preferential consideration because of the amount of financing secured, the source of financing, or the ability to self-fund training.

Scholarship Selection

Eligible applicants are evaluated using a standardized scoring process.

The strongest applicants may be invited to participate in a finalist scholarship interview with Texas Flight Airline Academy.

Following completion of the evaluation process, one recipient will be selected for the applicable class.

Scholarship selection is separate from admission to the Professional Pilot Program. Receiving an offer of admission does not guarantee a scholarship, and applying for the scholarship does not guarantee admission.

Application Deadlines

A separate scholarship is available for each eligible Professional Pilot Program class.

Scholarship applications must be received no later than 30 days before the scheduled start date of the class for which the applicant is applying.

Applicants are encouraged to apply early to allow sufficient time to complete the Professional Pilot Program admissions process and any required financing arrangements.

Already Applied to the Professional Pilot Program?

You do not need to submit another admissions application.

If you have already applied to an upcoming Professional Pilot Program class and meet the scholarship eligibility requirements, you may submit the separate scholarship application for your class.

Important Scholarship Terms

The Professional Pilot Scholarship has a maximum value of $10,000 and may be used only toward tuition in the Texas Flight Airline Academy Professional Pilot Program.

The scholarship is applied as four $2,500 tuition credits toward the recipient's first four scheduled tuition payments. The award is nontransferable, has no cash value, and may not be exchanged or redeemed for cash.

If the recipient's enrollment ends before all scholarship credits have been applied, any remaining unapplied scholarship amount is forfeited.

Applicants must satisfy all Professional Pilot Program admissions, enrollment, and financial requirements. Scholarship selection does not guarantee completion of training, issuance of an FAA certificate or rating, employment with Texas Flight Airline Academy, or future employment with an airline or other aviation employer.

Additional eligibility requirements and terms apply.
